Product Introduction:
Bacterial capsule is a layer of mucinous polysaccharides outside the bacterial cell wall, which has a weak affinity for dyes and is not easy to stain. Negative staining such as India ink is usually used to stain the background but not the capsule and bacteria, which is fast but at risk of misjudgment. After improvement, the form of inner and outer double staining is used to simultaneously color the bacteria and the background, which effectively improved the discrimination accuracy. Because of the high water content, loose and thin capsule, heat fixation is generally not used during staining to prevent capsule shrinkage and deformation.
This product adopts the classical capsule staining method, which can be used for the identification of capsular bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Bacillus anthracis and Clostridium perfringens.
