ConA Type A IV
Cat.No:
C8110
Brand:
Solarbio

ConA promotes cell mitosis, mainly has stimulating effects on T lymphocytes, agglutinating red blood cells and animal sperm, inhibiting tumor cell movement, and prolonging the survival time of allotransplantation. An important reagent for biochemical and immune research.

ConA physical properties: white to white powder; Dissolves in water, becomes cloudy after dissolution, the reference concentration is 10mg/ml.

ConA solubility: 10 mg/ml dissolved in water will form a slightly yellow solution, the specific concentration of use depends on the specific test.

ConA Applications:

Concanavalin A (Con A) is a lectin extracted from Jack bean, which can precipitate a variety of sugars, many other polysaccharides such as glucan and fructan, and a variety of glycoproteins such as immunoglobulins and blood group substances, as well as precipitate pneumococcal polysaccharides and agglutinate a variety of red blood cells. Con A can react with many bacterial and animal cells, can distinguish between certain normal and tumor cells, and can promote cell division (pro-mitosis). ConA IV is used in sublymphoid transposition experiments, it is also used to stimulate T cells to produce IL-1-like factors, and it is also used for splenocyte proliferation to study ligand/receptor action necessary for activation. In addition, the normal ACTH-secreting pituitary cells and ACTH-secreting adenoma cells are distinguished, which are used to study the role of glycosylation in the regulation of ion channels, for the separation and purification of glycoproteins, and for the study of polysaccharide and glycoprotein sugar chain structure.

In 1992, Tiegs et al. successfully induced specific liver injury in mice with ConA, which was A newly developed experimental model of liver damage mediated by T lymphocytes in recent years. Its establishment and application provide a more convenient and ideal experimental animal model for the in-depth study of the cytological and molecular mechanisms of hepatocyte damage and the screening of therapeutic drugs.
