Product introduction

A confirmatory test for determination of fecal coliform and Escherichia coli by multi-tube fermentation.

Tryptone provided carbon and nitrogen source; No. 3 bile salt inhibited Gram-positive bacteria, especially Gram-positive bacilli and Enterococcus faecalis. Lactose is a fermentable sugar; Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate were used as buffers. Sodium chloride was used to maintain an equilibrium osmotic pressure.
