Product Introduction:
Chloramphenicol, a bacterial broad-spectrum antibiotic, inhibits mRNA translation on the 50S ribosome during peptide bond formation catalyzed by peptide bond transferase, thereby inhibiting the growth of gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. In addition, chloramphenicol also has Rickettsial microbial resistance and psittacosis - lymphogranuloma chlamydia resistance, so chloramphenicol can be used for bacterial screening.
Acetylation of the chloramphenicol acetyltransferase gene (CAT gene) can resist resistance to chloramphenicol. Based on this principle, in molecular biology experiments, chloramphenicol can be used as a screening drug to screen transformed cells containing chloramphenicol resistance genes.
Recommended effective working concentration of 5-20μg/ml.
Description:
Preparation of tissue medium.
Use and synthesis method:
Storage solution preparation:
Weigh 1g chloramphenicol and dissolve in 20ml 100% ethanol to get 50mg/ml mother liquor, 0.22μM organic phase filter membrane to remove bacteria, subpack into a small amount and freeze at -20℃ to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, effective for one year.
[Note] :
Chloramphenicol storage solution cannot be autoclaved.Solubility:
Soluble in methanol, ethanol, butanol, acetone and ethyl acetate, slightly soluble in ether, insoluble in benzene and petroleum ether.
Note :
(1) For cell experiments, after dissolution, disposable needle filter must be used to remove bacteria.
(2) For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and wear disposable gloves.
