Product Introduction:
Calcium is abundant in the human body and forms the skeleton as a scaffold to support the human body. It also plays an important role in secretion, transport, muscle contraction, and nerve conduction. Calcium exists in two forms in the body. One is ionized calcium, which exists in the blood circulation, the so-called blood calcium; The other binds calcium, which binds to proteins, carbonic acid, or phosphoric acid and is deposited in tissues. "Calcium normally permeates all tissues and cells, except bones and teeth, and generally does not appear in the tissue in a solid state." However, in some cases, calcium precipitates into solid and precipitates in tissues, which is called pathological calcium salt deposition. The deposited calcium salts are mainly calcium phosphate, followed by calcium carbonate. Calcium salts are usually monorefringent, but calcium oxalate is birefringent. Many dyes can form chelates with calcium, including alizarin red S, rhodopsin, and nuclear fast red. The common methods for calcium salt staining include silver nitrate method and alizarin red S method.
This product uses the silver nitrate method, namely a metal replacement method, when the silver nitrate solution acts on the section containing insoluble calcium salt, the calcium is replaced by silver, and the silver salt is reduced to black metal silver under the action of light, which is suitable for calcium salt tissue staining of a large number of samples.
