Product Introduction:
Melanin is a non-hematogenous endogenous pigment, a group of pigments that range in color from light brown to black. This pigment is usually found in the substantia nigra and hair follicles of the skin, eyes, and brain. Lipofuscin is a tawny pigment with a granular appearance, consisting of fat-containing residues and lysosomal digests, and is thought to be produced by the oxidation of lipids and lipoproteins. Lipofuscin oxidation occurs slowly and gradually, so that the pigment exhibits different staining reactions, different colors, and variations in shape and size.
Melanin lipofuscin staining solution (Nile blue method) utilizes Nile blue to show melanin and lipofuscin, this method is simple to perform, but this staining solution may not stain some samples well.
