Product Introduction:
The purpose of fixation is to preserve the original morphology and structure of cells and tissues. Fixatives prevent the autolysis of endogenous lysosomal enzymes on their own tissues and cells, and inhibit the growth of bacteria and molds. Immobilizers inactivate enzymes by altering the internal structure of proteins through coagulation, generation of additive compounds, and so on. Fixatives physically alter the extracellular components of the cell nucleus. Fixative is mainly divided into aldehyde fixative, mercury fixative, alcohol fixative, oxidant fixative, picrate fixative, etc. The more commonly used ones are formalin in aldehydes and ethanol in alcohols.
Neutral formalin fixative (10%, RNase free) is mainly composed of formaldehyde, phosphate, deionized water, treated with RNase free, pH 7.2-7.4. This fixative is suitable for the fixation of the majority of tissues, and it is especially suitable for the fixation of experimental samples related to RNA.
