Acridine Orange 10-Nonyl Bromide(NAO), a derivative of acridine orange, is a specific fluorescent marker for the detection of intact intracellular mitochondria. Ex/Em: 495/522 nm. The binding of NAO to the inner membrane does not depend on changes in mitochondrial membrane potential, and can be used as a mitochondrial fluorescence probe in living cells, as well as for localization research and monitoring of mitochondrial integrity. In addition, the dye can be used to analyze mitochondria on a flow cytometer.
