Product Introduction:
Sodium deoxycholate, also known as sodium deoxycholate, with molecular weight of 414.55 and CAS number of 302-95-4, is a commonly used biological reagent.
Sodium deoxycholate is an ionic detergent, which can be used to lyse cells and dissolve proteins that are difficult to dissolve in water. The principle of the experiment is that the surface activity of bile or bile salts can quickly activate autolysin and accelerate the self-dissolution of Streptococcus pneumoniae and other bacteria. Disappearance of colonies is considered positive by the AGAR plate method. The test tube method is considered positive when the culture became clear with the addition of bile salts, whereas the control tube became cloudy. The test is positive for Streptococcus pneumoniae and negative for other α-haemolyticus, such as Streptococcus viridans.
