Product Introduction:
Sodium deoxycholate, also known as sodium deoxycholate, is a commonly used biological reagent.
Sodium deoxycholate is an ionic detergent, which can be used to lyse cells and dissolve proteins that are difficult to dissolve in water. It can also be used for bacteriolysis in bile. The principle is that the surface activity of bile or bile salts can rapidly activate autolysin and accelerate the self-dissolution of bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae. Disappearance of colonies is considered positive by the AGAR plate method. The test tube method is considered positive when the culture became clear with the addition of bile salts, whereas the control tube became cloudy. The test is positive for Streptococcus pneumoniae and negative for other α-haemolyticus, such as Streptococcus viridans.
