Styrenyl dye RH237 is a rapid response potential probe used primarily for functional imaging of neurons, but also for monitoring cell membrane potential, synaptic activity and neuronal ion channel activity. Styryl dyes typically have an absorption or excitation spectrum with a blue shift of 20 nm and an emission spectrum with a blue shift of 80 nm.
